Technology Skills of Freshmen
Our Freshmen have had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the One to One Laptop program. What are their technology strengths? What technology skills would you like to see improved?

Our Freshmen students seem to be very comfortable with computers and are ready to use them for the tasks at hand. They have a bit of a transition to make as they move from saving into their local home vs the network but they make the adjustment well.

It is so important that educators share ideas and information on this issue. I am anxious to hear from teachers as to how prepared you see our students when they arrive at the high school. Being here in an environment where each student has a laptop that serves as their essential tool for learning, it is hard to imagine what it must be like when they no longer have this personal tool. They have relied on the immediate accessing of information and files available at their fingertips, not to mention the ease in which they can communicate with family, teachers and others.
What 21st century skills do you hope to see them enter high school with? Where do you see gaps in skill development? What tips might you share? Thanks for your insights.
